We just can't believe how much our sweet baby has grown. She went to her 4 month appointment and she weighs 13 lbs 12 oz and is 25 inchs long. My sister came to California and brought her son William it was fun to see the cousins together. Plus they seem to have the same waist and thigh measurement ... gotta love mama's girl!

So we got a new chair for the baby to sit in. At first She's not sure she's that into it.

Almost a sad face ... Hmmm .... looking around ... Maybe this isn't that bad after all.

But she's pretty happy to be out of the chair too.

So I should really learn to turn pictures but right now I just wanted them posted while the baby is sleeping. I can type one-handed while I hold her but it's not that much fun. And I 'm slower. So we'll just try to bang these out. We had some friends of ours that used to live in Bakersfield and moved to Idaho a few years back stop by yesterday. It was good to catch up and see how much the kids had grown and how much they hadn't changed. I am the worst correspondent EVER! But I love getting together and talking and playing just like I haven't seen you since yesterday or last week instead of 2007. YAY!! For popsicles

She's fine! Everything is spiffing. "I am cute! I am a baby patriot! I can sleep through fireworks and church and the night!"

We had a doctor appointment today and I can hardly believe how much our girl has grown. She is 9 lbs 4oz and is 21 3/4 inches ... we braved the heat and went to church for the first time yesterday. She wore a yellow dress that was mine - I'm kinda sentimental that way. Church was a handful and I am glad that Grandma was there and that there will be many hands available to help on Sunday when we bless her. The Sad Face kills me!

So after some deliberation on whether to rehash life since September or just start today ... just starting over wins. Officially I am 39 weeks. This is what I have been focusing on instead of blogging for the last few months. I can't believe the end is near. Time has just flown by but we're excited to meet our little girl and I've never felt so round.

Usually I feel like most of what I do isn't really blog worthy. Nobody cares about my short drive to work or where I went to lunch or what my hair looks like or whether or not I was compliant with the dress code at work and how my sink at home has dishes in it that probably won't get done tonight ... I certainly don't want to write about those things, except when I have a really awesome hair day. But I actually have some hobbies and one thing that I like to do when I have the time, and the material, and the stars align just right is to make baby things. Nothing big, just fluffy little tidbits that are tokens of my love. So .... My friend, whom we shall call T had cute little twin boys a few months back and I actually finished some of the things that I set out to do. Que milagro indeed. T sent me a picture of her little boys and their lovies/burpees/thingies and I thought that I should show the world that I do more than wake up, teach seminary, work, eat, work, go home, eat, sleep, start over and if it's the weekend there is probably (hopefully) some laundry action in there. So here is the proof that sometimes I get some sewing done.

I figured that it was about time to put something new up on the blog page. This is a pic of the J-man and myself with some good friends of ours. On the left you have Tony and Val and on the right we have the newlyweds, Austin and Desee. It was good to spend an evening together and meet Desee. Nothing like a bit o' hanging out with friends. J-man and I are so blessed by the friends we have in our lives.

I just wanted to let everyone who checks my little page here in on the news. Early this morning (tues) my dad passed away at home. My family is so grateful for all your prayers and support, all the kind words and thoughts and expressions of love. I can't say thank you enough for that and ask that you continue to keep my family in your prayers. Thanks again - your support means the world to me.

So Seminary began again for me today and I don't know what was going on. I was totally afraid that I would be late because I am all off schedule from my parents being down here for the last week(which was awesome and exhausting) and didn't think I would be awake but, I was fine. But dang! Those kids were all over the place. Talking out of turn, random comments, funky questions that didn't really deal with the lesson. And Hannah has such a great story. And the random text msg, me having to be the bad guy(which I don't usually mind but seemed tedious today) and just all around shenanigans. Send Help .. fast I might not make it through the week. And I had to hold them late... Hey man - a deal's a deal! Maybe I should invite parents to come and hang out with us. So that's all. I bet that tomorrow will be better ... maybe.

ya know.... the first time I saw one of these on another blog I thought it looked like so much fun. And here I am a winner! Who would have thunk! So this is what I am going to do... I hereby promise to send fun- homemade goodness (well, at least partially homemade) to three random posters on my blog. I will give myself a time limit of 6 months. Does that sound extreme? Well, It's not if you know me. Plus I am still working on a baby blanket from last spring for a baby born last fall. But the pirate blanket is pretty cool, if I do say so myself. So I will taylor the gift to fit you (no tutu's for boys, no cookies for diabetics) If you will give your word of honor that you will spread the love and warm feelings by doing a Pay if Forward of your own. Just a quick note for anyone out there who checks my blog ... I can think of at least 3 people who know that I have a blog ... and they might check it ... Anyway moving on to business. Hard days ahead

I don't know how many people know that I am doing this whole fantastic blog thing but just in case someone is listening, or I guess watching is more accurate, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have asked about my Dad and Mom. My family is so grateful for your concern and love and prayers on our behalf. It is a hard thing when seemingly out of no where your mortality rears up in front of you and it is time to face the music. We are trying to remain hopeful and optimistic and remember that this is part of a greater plan for our happiness and that The Creator of The Plan is in charge. He is not a general in war willing to sacrifice pawns for the greater good but a Father who loves His Children and wants them all to return to live with Him. He knows us and can and will make all things for our benefit. Especially the hard things. Thanks for all your friendship and love. We are lost without one another.
